Whether you're looking to capture visitor attention on landing pages, increase engagement on your blog posts, or add some dynamic visuals to your emails, we've got you covered with step-by-step instructions for embedding media in all types of HubSpot content.

Getting started

Recommended embed settings for HubSpot:

  • Inline (Standard) embed

  • Responsive sizing

  • Embed in a Rich Text or Video module in HubSpot

When embedding on HubSpot website pages, landing pages, or blog posts using the drag and drop editor, you can opt for either the Rich Text module or the Video module. Choose whichever option best suits your layout and needs.

If you're using HubSpot blog templates and don't see Video or Rich Text in the modules list, you may need to add these modules to your template first via Settings => Template => Edit this template. Video Example 📼

Embedding in the Rich Text module

We'll follow HubSpot's Embed an external media file with an embed code instructions to embed a video via the Rich Text module. This method should support all of Wistia's embed types and options.

  • Open your page or post in the HS content editor

  • Add or select a Rich Text module

  • In the rich text toolbar, click Insert => Embed

  • Paste your Wistia embed code and click Insert

A preview of the media should display when you paste the embed code into the insert embed module:

Embedding in the Video module

For this method, we'll refer to HubSpot's Embed an external video in a video module instructions to embed the video. This method should support all of Wistia's embed types and options.

  • Open your page or post in the HS content editor

  • Add a Video module and select the following options:

    • Video Type: Embed

    • Embed Type: Embed Code

  • Paste your Wistia embed code and click Apply Changes

After clicking Apply Changes, you should see a clickable video show up on your page or post.

HubSpot Email Campaign embeds

Email Campaign embeds add a clickable thumbnail link to an email body, directing recipients to a page with your video. When clicked, these embeds use HubSpot's personalization tokens to dynamically tag your recipients by email so they show up in your identified audience within Wistia.

Get an email campaign embed from Wistia

From your Wistia media page, click Embed and select the Email Campaign tab.

  • From the Email Provider dropdown menu, select HubSpot

  • Specify the desired Thumbnail Size*

  • In the Links To field, enter the page URL of your embedded video

  • Click Copy Tag to get your embed code

*The maximum thumbnail size is determined by the email template.

Add your embed to a HubSpot email

To add your email embed, either create a new email or edit an existing one in the HubSpot email editor.

  • Click on the Rich Text module within the Main Email Body

  • In the Rich Text toolbar, select Advanced => Source Code

  • Paste your email embed into the Edit Source Code modal

  • Click Save Changes

If you need a clue for where to place your embed, try putting some placeholder text in the email body before opening the Source Code field, such as [embed here]. Then you'll know exactly where the embed should go in the Source Code.

After saving you should see the thumbnail show up in your message body right away, which means you're ready to send!
