Video dubbing involves generating multiple lip-synced translations of your video with the same tone as your original content.

Order dubbed version

You can order dubbed video translations in multiple languages for your videos. The order also includes the transcript and captions in the selected language. Dubbing is $2 per minute (after the first 15 minutes of free dubbing).

To get started, navigate to the media page of the video you'd like to dub.

Tip

To ensure accuracy for your dub, we recommend ordering a text translation first or uploading your own translated transcript. The ordered dub will respect the edited transcript.

In the "Transcript" tab, open the language dropdown menu and select "Manage localizations."

Here, you can manage all translations of your video and order a dubbed version.

In the "Select or search" bar, start typing the language you'd like to order or select it from the dropdown menu. Once selected, click "Purchase dub."

Tip

We offer a wide range of languages and accents. However, if you don't see the one you need, please let our support team know. We'll be happy to pass along your feedback.

After purchasing, you'll see a section in the localization modal showing when you ordered the dubbed version and an estimate of when it should be complete. You'll receive an email once it is finished processing.

Once complete, the new dub language will be available to select in your video's play bar.

Tip

The player automatically selects the correct language based on the viewer's browser settings. If that language exists as a dubbed version, the player will play it.

Tip

Languages in the dub menu are tagged to differentiate AI dubs from the original language.

You can also view the transcript and captions in the language you ordered.

In the "Transcript" section of the page, you'll see the new language in the dropdown menu.

In the captions menu of the play bar, you can select the language you ordered.

Save dubbed version as a new video

If you'd like to have different languages as separate media files, you can save a dubbed version as a new media file in your account. To do so, click "Manage localizations" from the dropdown menu in the "Transcript" section of your media's page.

In the "Manage localizations" modal, click the three dots next to your desired language. In this menu, click "Save as new video."

The localization will be saved in the same folder as the original video. It will have the same title as the original video, with the language specified in parentheses.

Download dubbed version

You can download a dubbed version of your video from the "Download" modal on your media page, as well as the "Manage localizations" modal. In the download modal, expand the ellipsis menu and select "Download."

In the modal, select your desired version from the "Language" dropdown menu. This shows you all available dubbed versions.

After selecting a language, click "Download."

To download a dubbed version from the "Manage localizations" modal, open up the dropdown menu in the "Transcript" section of the media page and select "Manage localizations."

Click the three dots next to the desired language and click "Download."

Delete dubbed version

To delete a dubbed version of your video, select "Manage localizations" from the dropdown menu in the Transcript section of your media page.

In the "Manage localizations" modal, click the three dots menu and select "Delete."

Then, confirm that you'd like to delete the localization in the pop-up window.

Note

This cannot be undone. If you delete an existing dub and then change your mind, you will need to repurchase the language.

Automatic player translations

Player controls will be translated automatically based on the viewer's caption or dub language selection. For example, if you enable a Korean dub for a video, all text in the player, including speed and quality controls, Chapters, Turnstiles, etc., will also be translated to Korean.

If player translations are not available for a specific caption language, we'll default to English. Check out our Transcripts and Captions guide for more information.
