What is Descript?
Descript is a collaborative audio and video editor. It includes transcription, a screen recorder, publishing, full multitrack editing, as well as AI tools.
How it works
In Descript, once you’re ready to share your media to Wistia:
Click "Export" in the top right corner
Set "Wistia" as the destination
Click "Publish" at the bottom of the modal
You'll be prompted to log in and/or select a Wistia account, then your video will begin importing.
Tip
Depending on the size of the project, this could result in longer wait times to export to Wistia. So, depending on your timeline, be sure to publish early!
While your media is importing to Wistia, you’ll see a page indicating that the import is in progress.
Note
If your media is still encoding with Descript, this page will stick around a bit longer.
Tip
You can leave this page while the import is still processing, and the media will continue to upload!
Once the media has been imported into Wistia, you’ll be brought to its Wistia media page, and Wistia will then begin its encoding process.
Note
If you have a transcript or captions in Descript, these will automatically be uploaded and pulled into Wistia!
