There are a few initial steps required to start receiving Wistia notifications via Slack:

We'll cover each step in detail below.

First, Wistia’s app needs to be added to a Slack workspace. To get started, head to the Integrations page in Wistia, then click the "Slack" integration. From there, click “Set up Slack.”

You'll be asked to log in (if you're not logged in already) and select a workspace.

If a Slack workspace admin needs to approve an app, the Slack screen will guide you through the request process. Once approved, or if approval is not needed for your workspace, continue from “Set up Slack integration” through Slack’s connection flow.

Once the connection process is complete, all Wistia users on the account will have the ability to connect at a user level.

Once connected at the account level, you can connect your Wistia user profile to your Slack user profile to receive personalized notifications and take user-specific actions.

In your Slack workspace, navigate to "Tools," then click "Apps." Search and select the Wistia app to connect.

Once you’ve fully connected the Slack integration, you can opt in to receive notifications from Wistia in Slack.

Navigate to your Settings page in Wistia, then click "Notifications." From here, toggle on any notifications you’d like to receive in Slack under the "Slack" column and save your changes.

To disconnect the Slack integration, navigate to the Integrations page in Settings, then click "Slack." From there, click "Disconnect user profile" to only disconnect your user profile from the Slack integration. To disconnect the Slack integration for all users on the Wistia account, click "Disconnect Slack."
