There are a few initial steps required to start receiving Wistia notifications via Slack:

We'll cover each step in detail below.

First, Wistia’s app needs to be added to a Slack workspace. To get started, head to your Integrations page in Wistia, then click the "Slack" integration. From there, click “Set up,” then "Connect."

You'll be asked to log in (if you're not logged in already) and select a workspace.

If a Slack workspace admin needs to approve an app, the Slack screen will guide you through the request process. Once approved, or if approval is not needed for your workspace, continue through Slack’s connection flow.

Once the connection process is complete, all Wistia users on the account will have the ability to connect at the user level.

In your Slack workspace, go to "Agents & tools," then click "Apps." Search for and open the Wistia app. From the "Home" tab, click "Connect."

Alternatively, click "Connect from Slack" on the Slack integration page in Wistia to jump straight to the Wistia app in Slack.

After you've connected your Wistia user to your Slack user, a "Slack" column appears on your Notifications settings page. When you first connect, your Slack notifications are set to match your current email notification settings, so you can start getting Slack messages right away.

To change your notification settings, go to your Settings page in Wistia and click "Notifications." Toggle notifications on or off under the "Slack" column, then save your changes.

Wistia notifications are sent to you directly in the Wistia app's Messages tab in Slack. They aren't posted to a Slack channel. Each person chooses their own Slack notifications.

The following notifications can be sent to Slack: Comments, Video activity, New lead alerts, and the Monthly digest. Other notifications, like login alerts, billing alerts, daily and weekly digests, and media exports, are only available by email.

To disconnect the Slack integration, navigate to the Integrations page from your account Settings, then click "Slack." From there, click "Disconnect user profile" to only disconnect your user profile from the Slack integration.

To disconnect the Slack integration for all users on the Wistia account, click "Disconnect Slack."
