Permission Issues
Using Live requires that you enable the necessary permissions on your browser and device. If you’re unable to join the Event Room, your webcam or microphone are not working properly, or you’re unable to share your screen, try the following troubleshooting steps.
Ensure that proper permissions are enabled in your browser and on your computer, including:
Microphone access
Camera access
Screen-capture access
Alert
If you’re using MacOS, screen-sharing might be disabled on your device by default.
Browser extensions may also interfere with your streaming. If the permissions above look correct, try disabling any browser extensions that might be interfering with these settings.
Similarly, it’s possible for other live streaming applications to conflict with your Live event. Ensure that you are not running Zoom or a similar application at the same time as Wistia Live.
Hardware Issues
If you’re noticing that your video or audio is freezing or stuttering, you may need to decrease the demand on your machine. Try restarting your computer and closing out of any unnecessary tabs and applications before going live, especially any tools that might also be utilizing your camera and microphone.
Network Issues
When going live, a stable network connection is crucial for your event to run smoothly. Network issues during a Live event can result in major delays with the host or presenter’s audio or video. If this is the case, there are a few things we recommend:
Move closer to your router to improve speeds.
If possible, a hard-wired ethernet connection will provide a much more reliable network connection.
