Creating webinars, podcasts, and product demos requires a lot of time and resources. You’ve already done the hard work, so we want to help you repurpose the content you’ve created into highly engaging clips to reach your audience on any social platform.

With Wistia’s AI-generated social clips, you can create exciting and concise content with burnt-in captions, backgrounds, and animations.

On your media overview page, click "Social clips" above the video player.

You'll be directed to the social clip page.

Alternatively, you can create a new social clip from your video’s transcript. Simply highlight the desired section of text and click "Create social clip".

In the "Clips" tab of the social clip editor, you can customize the start and end times using the scrubber below the video.

To customize the aspect ratio of a social clip, click into the dropdown menu from the left-hand side panel.

Each aspect ratio option shows the platforms it's most optimized for.

When editing a social clip, in the "Layout" section, you can decide between "Tile" and "Full." This determines whether the video has padding and rounded corners (tile). The whole layout shows the video without any padding or rounded corners within the social clip.

The "Style" modal includes two tabs: "Presets" and "Advanced".

In the "Presets" tab, you can toggle captions on or off, choose a primary brand color, and select from four existing text styles.

To ensure your captions are visible on any video, you can drag and drop them to any position along the vertical axis of the social clip. Captions will always be horizontally centered in the middle of the video.

In the "Theme" section, when editing your social clip, you can decide among various options. These have different background animations and burnt-in caption styles.

AI auto-frame automatically detects faces in your video and places them in layouts that look great on mobile. This feature is enabled by default, but can be disabled by clicking "AI auto-frame" under the video preview, then toggling it off.

You can decide which of the detected faces show up in the clip, and in what order, from the AI auto-frame panel.

If the AI auto-frame didn’t place a speaker exactly how you wanted, you can scale and/or position their feed within the slot. To do so, hover over their feed, click "Edit," then adjust as needed:

When editing a social clip, you'll see snippets of the transcript on the left-hand side. These are key moments generated from your video, and each one contains different text for your social post.

Select a different key moment to update the "Social post" summary.

Below the video timeline, we'll also display an auto-generated suggestion for your social post's caption. Click "Regenerate" to see a new suggestion, or "Copy text" to paste the text into your post.

Once you’re satisfied with your social clip and customizations, you can save it as a new media in your Wistia account or download it directly to your device. You can also click to copy the generated text for your social post.

Once you click "Save," select the folder where you'd like the clip to go, or create a new one. You can also update the title when saving.

Now, you’re ready to take to social media with your new creation!
