Creating webinars, podcasts, and product demos entails a lot of time and resources. You’ve already done the hard work, so we want to help you repurpose the content you’ve created into highly engaging clips to reach your audience on any social platform.

With Wistia’s AI-generated social clips, you can create exciting and concise content with burnt-in captions, backgrounds, and animations.

Note

Social clips are only available for video files that are at least 2 minutes long and have a Wistia-generated transcript. Social clips cannot be generated for videos containing transcripts that were uploaded manually.

Creating a Social Clip

On the Overview page for your video, click Create Social Clips on the left sidebar.

Social clips can also be created directly from your video’s transcript. Simply highlight the desired section of text and click Create social clip.

Note

The selected transcript content must have a duration of at least 15 seconds.

We’ll automatically generate a selection of key moments from your video to choose from with a variety of customization options.

Customizing a Social Clip

Once your social clips have been generated, you can customize the start and end times using the scrubber below the video. Further, you can customize the template style, brand colors, and aspect ratio.

  • Template style determines the background animation and burnt-in caption style of your clip.

  • We’ll automatically pull existing brand colors from your Brand Kit, but you may select another color in the Social Clips editor.

  • Choose between horizontal, square, and vertical aspect ratios depending on the social platform to which you’ll be posting.

Saving and Posting a Social Clip

Once you’re satisfied with your social clip and customizations, you can either save it as a new media in your Wistia account or download it directly to your device. Now, you’re ready to take to social media with your new creation!
