The Trends page provides detailed insights into the performance of a single media item, an individual folder, or your entire account over a custom date range.
Note
Videos referenced in Channels are included in your account-level video trends. Audio stats are not included in account-level trends at this time. Account-level trends cannot be filtered by Channel.
Account-level video trends
Note
Only Account Owners and Managers can access account-level trends.
In the left-side navigation menu, select “Trends” from the “Analytics” drop-down.
You'll be directed to the "Trends" page, where you’ll see the daily analytics for your media for the last week by default.
Analytics are differentiated in the graph by video stats in green and folder stats in blue.
Hover over the graph to see analytics for an individual video or folder, or analytics for all videos or folders by hovering over the white space.
Select an individual folder from the graph to see analytics exclusive to those videos, or select a single video to hone in on any spikes.
Sort trends by date
Above the graph, you’ll see an option to select a date range. Wistia supplies five preset date ranges:
Month to date
Last month
Last 90 days
Year to date
Last year
You can choose from these options or enter a custom date range.
To view all-time analytics for your videos, enter any date before you opened your account. We’ll automatically adjust the date to your account creation date when you click "Update".
Note
Only your play count reflects the date range you select. Engagement and play rate are always calculated as all-time stats and will not change when you adjust the dates. If your engagement graph looks the same across different date ranges, this is why.
Click the title of an individual media to access the video-level analytics. Check out our Media Analytics Overview for more information.
Sort trends by play metrics
Once the trends graph has loaded based on your selections, you can also sort the returned videos and folders by date created, number of videos, and number of plays.
Double-click on any column title to switch the order from descending to ascending.
Export trends
At the bottom of the “Trends” page, click “Export to CSV” to export data for your selected date range.
Click “Load more” to load 10 more videos into the trends list.
Uncheck the “Show remaining videos in chart” option to limit the trends graph to only the media visible in the list.
In the “Export Stats” modal, you can export all videos in your account, or only the videos currently in the trends list.
A CSV file containing your requested data will be sent to your user login email.
Tip
The Trends export covers your selected range for the videos in the list. Account Owners can export an all-media report from the Account Usage page (my.wistia.com/account/usage). For custom reports, developers can use the Data API.
If your CSV export doesn't arrive
Exports are generated on demand and emailed to your login address, so large or wide date ranges can take a few minutes. If you haven't received an export after ~15 minutes, try requesting a narrower date range, or a single day at a time, then request again. Still nothing? Reach out to us, and we'll investigate.
