Read on to learn how to allow your teammates and viewers to leave comments on your media.
Share for review
One of the easiest ways to get feedback from your team is to use the “Share for review” option, which allows you to generate a shareable link. This link can be accessed by anyone you share it with, regardless of whether they have a Wistia account. You can access the “Share for review” option on the media page, under the "Share" dropdown menu.
Read more about the share for review feature here.
Audience Comments
Audience Comments include comments left by anonymous viewers on the public media page. To enable Audience Comments, navigate to the media page preview through the “Preview” option in the ellipsis menu.
In the “Controls” tab, toggle the “Comments” option on to allow anonymous viewers to comment on the public media page.
On the public media page, anonymous viewers will be prompted to enter their name before commenting.
Comment bulk actions
You can manage commenting ability for multiple media from the bulk actions menu.
In the “Manage Comments” modal, you can enable or disable Audience Comments for the selected media on the public media page. Click “Apply” to save your changes.
Team Comments
Team Comments include internal comments left by logged-in users. These comments can only be seen by users who are logged into the account.
Note
You can update your email notification preferences in your account settings.
You can filter Team Comments to view those with a specific timecode, the new comments, or the oldest ones.
Tag users in comments
Tag a user in a Team Comment by typing “@” followed by their name. The user can then be selected from the drop-down that appears.
The tagged user will be notified via email and on their Home page in Wistia.
React to comments
Leave a reaction on a Team Comment by clicking the smiley face icon below the comment and then selecting your emoji of choice.
To remove a reaction, click the emoji you’ve just added.
Add links to comments
Links are supported in Team Comments. Any URL pasted in a Team Comment will automatically be hyperlinked.
Mark as resolved
Click the checkmark next to a Team Comment to mark it as resolved. The comment will then be hidden so you can sort through any unresolved comments.
If you’d like to revisit a resolved comment, click “Show Resolved”. Click the checkmark next to the resolved comment to reopen it.
Manage comments
You can view and manage all comments on the media overview page. The "Comments" tab lives next to the media transcript.
If you’ve enabled both Team and Audience Comments, you can toggle between them in the "Comments" tab.
Edit comments
Made a typo? No problem. You can edit or delete a comment by opening the ellipsis menu below the comment.
The “Edit” option will only be available to comments you’ve posted.
Delete comments
Team and Audience comments can be deleted from the media overview page. To delete a comment, open the ellipsis menu below the comment and select “Delete”.
Alert
Deleted comments cannot be restored.
Logged-in users can delete any Audience or Team Comments.
Link a comment to a specific time
Give your comment some context by linking it to a timestamp in the video. Link your comment to a specific time by pausing the video while viewing or scrolling to the desired time. Ensure the timestamp is checked off on your comment before submitting.
