Note

Pre-recorded webinars are available on Advanced and Premium plans.

After creating a webinar, you can schedule a video to start the event automatically. On your event's overview page, click "Edit" to open the Event Info modal.

In the settings tab, select the "Pre-recorded event" option, then click "Choose video".

You'll be prompted to select an existing video from your Wistia account in the pop-up modal. You can navigate and search all of the content in your Wistia account.

Select a video and click "Add 1 video" to return to the Event Info modal. Click "Save" to confirm your changes.

Note

Your selected video must be at least one minute long and cannot have Turnstiles or password protection enabled.

If you changed your mind or accidentally selected the wrong video, click “Replace video” to choose a new one.

Note

Simulcasting is not available for pre-recorded events.

A pre-recorded event will begin streaming at the scheduled time with the video you’ve selected.

A limited version of chat, Q&A, and polls will be available throughout the event. Hosts will be able to use Private Chat and Audience Chat, ask and answer questions, and launch polls. Audience members will be able to chat, ask and respond to questions, and respond to polls.

However, other event room features will be disabled. These include:

  • Selecting another video to present

  • Layout changes

  • Bringing people on/off stage

  • Bringing comments, polls, and Q&A on stage

  • Uploading and bringing slides on stage

At the end of the video, the event will end automatically.

Note

In case of an emergency, any host can end the event early.

If you’d like to run a partially simulated event or begin an event with a video, you can run a regular event and use the Present Media feature to display videos at their highest quality on stage at your desired timing.

Note

Pre-recorded webinars were previously known as "autostarted events".
