Wistia Agent

An automated assistant that can answer your questions and complete tasks in your Wistia account.

The Wistia Agent is an in-app assistant with capabilities to organize and understand your Wistia account and content. Ask the agent just about anything to locate and manage content, confirm product capabilities, understand analytics, and more.

The Wistia Agent is currently in beta, so we encourage you to share feedback on your experience.

How to use the agent

The agent is available from the footer at the bottom of your Wistia account. Click the “Wistia Agent” button to open the chat box and start a request.

The agent modal will open and display a few sample prompts to help you get started. Example requests include, but are not limited to:

  • Apply my logo and brand colors to the player across my videos. Ask me which videos, and show the plan first.

  • Give me an overview of my library, including how many videos I have, how they're organized into folders, and what's tagged or archived.

  • Add captions to a group of my videos, or translate them into another language. Ask me which videos and which languages.

Note

The agent will not take any actions without your permission.

Upload or record media

Easily upload content or start a new recording from anywhere in your account via the agent.

To add new content, click the plus (+) icon at the bottom left of the chat box and select “Upload videos” to select a file from your device, or “Record a video” to start a new recording in Wistia.

Select media from Content Library

When sending a message to the agent, you can attach any media from your Content Library to include in your request.

Click the plus (+) icon at the bottom left of the chat box to attach one or more videos from your account.

Note

The agent recognizes the account page, folder, or media you are currently viewing.

Manage chat history

The agent remembers your chat history so you can easily return to previous messages. To view your chat history, click the arrow icon at the top right of the agent modal.

You’ll be directed to a list view of all past chats with the agent and video remix history. Click into any chat to view or continue the conversation.

Click the trash can icon on the right side of any chat to delete it permanently.

FAQ

Is there an additional cost to use the agent?

The agent is currently free to use.

Can the agent delete my content?

The agent can take destructive actions, such as deletions, but only after you've confirmed the action. The agent will never delete content without your explicit permission.

Does the agent respect user permissions?

The agent is designed to operate within the user's permission levels and will not allow anyone to bypass what they can already do in the account.

How is the agent different than Remix?

Remix is a focused tool for creating video. The agent is a general-purpose assistant for finding, understanding, and acting on content across your Wistia account.

Does the agent work on mobile?

Yes!
